Back on "the patch"

Now that school is back I am on dog walking duties again. It was a frosty start this morning as you can see from the photo. The cold weather did not stop the local chiffchaff from singing. A magpie was trying to get some food out of the hard surface under the bushes.

The local house sparrows were chirping away in the brambles and on the open moor I had another sight of a pair of meadow pipits. Now that shops etc. are open, the local spaces might not be as busy, which will be helpful for ground nesting birds.
