Hirundines at Blacktoft

Busy morning at football meant that we sold out of food so I was able to go birdwatching and arrived at Blacktoft at 1430.

Thanks to Kathleen the weather was very changeable. Sunshine, then heavy rain shower, and always strong gusty winds.

Lots of swallows. sand martins and a single house martin were hunting for insects over Ousefleet and Marshland. Most of the birds are still favouring Ousefleet. Black tailed godwits, avocets, redshank, shelduck and teal. Oystercatchers on Reedling.

After reception closed I spent time in Singleton, watching the marsh harriers skydancing.

While watching them I noticed 2 bitterns flying.

I just managed this picture before they landed in the reed bed.

Another pleasant visit
