I arrived at 1045 for a couple of hours birdwatching. It was a hive of activity.
The young common terns are now very active. Some are able to fly
the adults are constantly looking out for danger,
this one flew off to chase away a red kite
another adult was busy dive bombing a little egret
the little egret flew closer to the hide
a young lapwing appeared
the oystercatcher family were busy
one of the young is starting to flap its wings
Meanwhile on the other scrape an adult moorhen chased some snipe away
3 green sandpipers came closer to the hide to escape the terns
From the other hide
still some water which had attracted over 100 lapwings and 4 black-tailed godwits.A pleasant 2 hours.
