A trip to Filey

I had hoped to see a little auk at Filey today, but I was unable to locate from the top of Carr Naze.

Due to the windy conditions I did not take my telescope so perhaps I missed it.

The first birds that I did see were the 4 snow buntings. On my return walk to the car I saw fulmars and a male stonechat near the pond.

Redshanks and oystercatchers were feeding on the grass in the centre of the Country Park.

I drove to Filey Dams.

Sadly the afternoon sunshine gave way to rain showers. A black tailed godwit was feeding on the side of the bund. Lots of herring gulls, 3 black headed gulls, a few teal, wigeon, mallard and gadwall. Lots of moorhens, but they kept chasing each other.
