Hagg Wood, Dunnington.

I am giving a talk about Woodland Birds, to the Friends of Hagg Wood on Thursday evening next week, so decided to have a walk around the wood today.
Cold but bright weather with lots of bird song.

Lots of activity as I walked along the path on my left. Great tits were chasing each other about, blue tits were feeding and a single long tailed tit ws looking for food.

Lots of snowdrops on the ground in this part of the wood.

This tree had bent a little as it grew searching for the light.

Nice to see some open areas of the wood. Plenty of beech mast here, suitable for bramblings.

Lots of fallen timber providing a home for insects and food for birds.

A pleasant walk in the morning sunshine.
