Bits and bobs.

Involved with 2 walks this week. The first one was on Tuesday at St. Aidans with a group from Sheffield.

The little owls were showing well in the compound.

During our walk around the western reedbed we heard bittern booming on lots of occasions but did not manage to see one in flight. Black-necked grebes were busy feeding their young and we saw two birds with young on the backs of the adults. A good preview for Springwatch.

Wednesday was the monthly walk in Museum gardens, York.

The wildflower meadow is now in full bloom and well worth a visit. We had excellent views of chiffchaff and treecreeper.
