Filey Dams

 While granddaughter sorted out her uni things I spent a few hours at Filey Dams. It was still a bit cool in the hides, so I was glad to have a jumper in the car.

4 Garganey

2 males and 2 females.

a redshank came close to the hide

an avocet chased it away

the colours on the lapwing were brilliant in the sunshine

a goldfinch flew in for a drink

this carrion crow was looking for eggs or young birds

house martins were collecting mud
